Kirksey Architecture | Metrocare Mental Health and Disability Innovation Center at Hillside
Our Project
Metrocare is Dallas County's largest comprehensive service provider, supporting patients with behavioral health issues and developmental disabilities. The original Metrocare facility, built in 1940, lacked the space and flexibility to deliver the modern care Metrocare strives to provide. Together, Metrocare and Kirksey worked to create the new Behavioral Health Innovation Center, a best-in-class mental health facility in Dallas County. The campus includes a 50,000-square-foot behavioral health clinic where the design takes advantage of natural light, which has mood-boosting effects. The building is the centerpiece of the new campus where children, adults, families, veterans and those with disabilities receive integrated, evidence-based services. A 96,000-square-foot client services facility, comprised of two levels of Class A administrative office space, includes a commercial kitchen and wellness center and sits atop a parking garage and additional complimentary client services.
