2026 Recipients Press Release

INFRASTRUCTURE
Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center
Morristown, NJ
After enduring several power outages due to storms and downed power lines, Morristown Medical Center (MMC) recognized a need to fortify its electrical infrastructure to ensure continuity of service, especially during adverse weather conditions. The project team contracted BC Energy (formerly Cogen Power Technologies) to overhaul the hospital’s power supply infrastructure, rerouting and consolidating main electrical service from the power grid and upgrading outdated electrical equipment and wiring across the facility.
NEW CONSTRUCTION
UAB Medical West Hospital
Bessemer, AL
Planned as a replacement of a 60-year-old facility, the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s new Medical West Hospital was designed to meet the unique and diverse needs of a rapidly growing rural area. Flexibility and ease of access were key to the design; the final layout features clustered imaging, rehab and specialty clinics to move patients smoothly between care areas, while universal exam, patient, operating and imaging rooms enable spaces to adapt between service lines.

RENOVATION
Tower 2 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission
Merriam, Kan.
Tower 2 was originally constructed in 1972, making it the oldest building on the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission campus. Recognizing a need to bring the building up to a modern standard of care, AdventHealth enlisted h|d Architecture and McCarthy Building Companies to update the facility’s interior and exterior, including replacing and enlarging 220 exterior windows and resealing and coating the building envelope.

MetroHealth’s The Glick Center
Cleveland
The Glick Center, opened in 2022, anchors a decade-long campus transformation for MetroHealth, a public hospital and academic medical center in Cleveland and Ohio’s sole adult and pediatric trauma and burn center. Despite the criticality of the hospital’s operations, a short timeline driven by aging infrastructure, and a firm budget financed through public bonds, MetroHealth delivered a state-of-the-art facility that modernizes care and uplifts the surrounding community.

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Tower Operation Room
Falls Church, Va.
This project set out to modernize the facility’s premier 30-room operating suite with state-of-the art equipment and a new layout that improves staff and patient workflow by increasing operating room sizes and reorienting the unit’s floor plan.

Hackensack University Medical Center Central Utility Plant
Hackensack, N.J.
The project team behind the new plant took extensive measures and leveraged cutting-edge technology in the planning phase to ensure continual operation of the hospital’s critical systems during construction and optimize the plant’s design.

Utah Valley Hospital, Intermountain Healthcare
Provo, UT
An innovative, major multiphase campus construction project that ultimately replaced a majority of the campus’ aging building space and transformed the campus identity.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Providence Regional Medical Center Everett
Everett, WA
Stantec worked hand-in-hand with an electrical contractor and PRMCE staff to upgrade the A-wing switchboard, which was installed in the 1960s in a small one-entrance room.
