Our Project

To serve the growing community of Aspen, CO, SLAM transformed Aspen Valley Hospital from a 70,000-square-foot inpatient facility into a 230,000-square-foot outpatient-oriented medical campus. What began in 2000 as a small expansion evolved into a 25-year master plan that modernized infrastructure and expanded services while keeping the hospital fully operational through carefully phased construction.

Designed to respect Aspen’s mountain setting, the campus maximizes natural light, views and environmental stewardship, earning LEED Gold Certification in 2014 as the highest-altitude hospital to achieve this distinction. Completed in 2025, the campus now anchors a leading orthopedic program in partnership with Steadman Clinic, delivering world-class care close to home.
